All three classes will be in action on the second day of sailing at the Youth Olympic Games at Club Nautico San Isidro, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Girl’s and Boy’s Kiteboarding and the Mixed Nacra 15s begin racing today, joining the Girl’s and Boy’s Windsurfing (Techno 293+) which started yesterday. Three races will be sailed in each event.
Boy’s Windsurfing, Boy’s Kiteboarding and the Nacra 15s are due to kick off proceedings at noon, with Girl’s Windsurfing and Girl’s Kiteboarding starting shortly afterwards.
Conditions are expected to be similar to yesterday in terms of wind strength. Monday morning saw a breeze of 10 knots and sailors are expecting 5-12 knots over the course of the day, with around 8 knots envisaged when races are scheduled to begin.
There is a cold front on the horizon which shouldn’t arrive until about 20:00. However, the effects may be experienced earlier, with the wind changing direction at around 15:00 from north north east to north north west.
The tide will go out until around 15:00 in a south-easterly direction, while the water level will not be quite as shallow as it was yesterday.
