The spotlight will shine on Kiteboarding on the final day of Sailing at the Youth Olympic Games, held at Club Nautico San Isidro, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Girl’s and Boy’s fleets will each complete one more semi final, before progressing to the Petit Final, which determines who finishes fifth to eighth, and the winner-takes-all Final, which will see the gold, silver and bronze Olympic medals awarded.

Leading the Girl’s fleet is Alina Kornelli (GER), with a total of just four points – she’s won all but one of the races she has competed in this week.

Sofia Tomasoni (ITA) is eight points behind in second, and Nina Font (ESP) just one point away in third.

Also on four points over in the Boy’s fleet, Deury Corniel (DOM) tops the rankings, but he has shown this week that he can be beaten, with two discarded sixth-place finishes contrasting with his four wins.

Second-placed Cameron Maramenides (USA) is five points off him, and third-placed Toni Vodisek (SLO) is a further point behind.

Competition is tight in both fleets, meaning a smooth performance in the winner-takes-all Final is crucial.

Racing starts at 10:00 local time, when a north-westerly wind will be blowing at around 8 knots.

The lower wind speed will cause the breeze to shift around, and its strength will gradually decrease until around 16:00.

High tide is set for 12:00, meaning an upstream current will be present until then, but this will go largely unnoticed during the early hours of the competition as the wind will be pushing the water down.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

Girl’s Kiteboard: 10:00 Warning (Area D)
Final Race

Boy’s Kiteboard: 10:00 Warning (Area D)
Final Race
