With 12 series races already successfully completed, the Mixed Nacra 15 fleet are ready to proceed to the single-point, non-discardable medal race at 12:00.

And it’s set to be an exciting contest, with five teams in with a chance of winning a medal and plenty of room for movement amongst that top five.

Argentine duo Dante Cittadini and Teresa Romairane currently top the group by 10 points. Laila van der Meer and Bjarne Bouwer (NED) are level on 41 points with Henri Demesmaeker and Frederique van Eupen (BEL), with Titouan Petard and Kenza Coutard (FRA) behind them on 43 points.

Silas Muehle and Romy Mackenbrock are further back with 61 points, but a podium position is not out of the question for the Germans.

With no races completed yesterday, the Girl’s and Boy’s Kiteboarding fleets will head to the Final Race which consists of two semi-finals followed by the Petit Final and the winner-take-all Final.

The forecast is not looking particularly promising for a full day of sailing. Though temperatures are warmer at around 21°C, the wind is not as strong as it was yesterday.

This morning saw readings of less than 5 knots in a south westerly direction, but local conditions may have a positive effect on the wind. Today will see the highest soil temperature of the whole week, and the warmer weather may produce an easterly sea breeze of around 7 knots or more.

The cut-off point for racing to start in the Nacra 15 fleet is 15:15, with Kiteboarding set at 15:30.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

Mixed Multihull: 12:00 Warning (Area B)
Medal Race

Girl’s Kiteboard: 12:00 Warning (Area D)
Final Race

Boy’s Kiteboard: 12:03 Warning (Area D)
Final Race
