Buenos Aires 2018 YOG

Sailing at the Youth Olympic Games at Club Nautico San Isidro, Buenos Aires, Argentina, gets underway today.

Girl’s and Boy’s Windsurfing (Techno 293+) is the only class in action on the opening day – they will launch for a midday start.

The Girls are due to begin racing at 12:00, with the Boys setting off 10 minutes later at 12:10.

Sunday morning saw a breeze of 8 knots, but this is due to drop to 6 knots by the time racing starts, and down further to 4 knots at around 14:00.

The north/north-easterly wind will increase later on in the day, but will not reach above 8 knots.

Elsewhere, the tide will go out until 13:30 before it turns around again. The current in very shallow water here at San Isidro will be 1 knot.

The forecast for Monday 8th October, when Kiteboarding and Nacra 15 start racing, is expected to be better. Rain is expected tonight, which will alter the conditions tomorrow.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

Girl’s Windsurfer: 12:00 Warning (Area A)

Three races scheduled

Boy’s Windsurfer: 12:10 Warning (Area A)

Three races scheduled
